Taster Classes - A great introduction to throwing pottery on a wheel. For three hours you will be taught how to centre and throw a couple of pots, you can select your best two and they will then be glazed by Claire and fired ready for you to collect. Unfortunately, you can’t glaze your own as they have to dry out and be fired twice before they are ready. You don’t need to bring anything with you, everything will be provided.
Please note: Children’s classes are from 8 years old and above. This is due to the height of the wheel, they must be able to reach the floor comfortably when sitting on a buffet so they can operate the wheel safely.
-
This class is suitable for an absolute beginner or a person who can already throw. The course is run over six weeks and covers, throwing on the pottery wheel, trimming, pattern making, and glazing. This course is inclusive of all equipment, clay (up to 12.5kg - it doesn’t sound a lot but it is!) glazing, and firing.
